What is Scottish Country Dancing? Scottish Country Dancing is the social dancing of Scotland, usually done to fiddle, accordion or bagpipe music. It is a fun, social dance, usually done in sets of eight dancers. Scottish Country Dancing should not be confused with Scottish Highland Dancing, which is usually danced solo and associated with the Highland Fling and the sword dance.

Do I have to be Scottish?
No. People from all nationalities enjoy Scottish Country Dancing.

Do I need a partner?
The answer is a definite NO! Come as you are and meet new friends.

Do I need dancing shoes?
Not to get started, though you may wish to buy some later.

Do I need a kilt or other special attire?
No. For classes casual, comfortable clothing is fine.

Do I need some background in dancing?
No. All the basic steps and formations required for enjoyment of Scottish Country Dancing are taught in the Beginners class.

How much does it cost?
Current annual rate is $90.00 per person for weekly classes from September through May.
